BREAKING NEWS: I'M OFFICIALLY SENDING MY PICTURE BOOK MANUSCRIPT TO PUBLISHERS/AGENTS!
Gulp! As of April 6, 2020, I took a HUGE step toward exploring my options and hopefully towards publication. I sent out my first QUERY letters (with a dummy book) for Keep Mommy Safe to a handful of prospective publishers. I researched into different publishing houses for a VERY long time and every one of the publishers I chose looked amazing, sound like great publishing partners, and truly felt my book would fit well into their catalogue.
I'm keeping my expectations realistic, as rejection is quite normal and expected within the writing industry. But, I am still very excited for this learning experience that I am going through, regardless of the outcome. Sometimes the best way to learn how to do something is to jump right in feet first.
I have been having fun as I continue completing the illustrations for Keep Mommy Safe. My plan has always been to self-publish if a publisher doesn't decide to hitch their wagon to mine just yet (and I emphasize that the operative word there is 'yet'). But I would be over-the-moon excited if a publisher did fall in love with my book. That would absolutely make my day!
Now for a lot of anxious waiting. :) I will make sure to keep the website updated, so if there's any celebration-worthy news that comes down the pipe, you'll be the first to know! So cross your fingers, your toes, and even your eyes for me! Thank you!
That's right! Giddy up - we're on the roll now!
